Mamoru Hosada's
Wolf Children|| おおかみこどもの雨と雪

Hey y’all,
So I’m back for another review- Wolf Children|| おおかみこどもの雨と雪
I was mainly pulled in from the animation of the film (for me personally, it reminded a lot, of Studio Ghilbli films)- in addition the synopsis was what caught my attention as well.

Film Review|| The Tales of Princess Kaguya, かぐや姫の物語

Studio Ghibli- The Tales of Princess Kaguya|| かぐや姫の物語

Okay, can I just rave about how AMAZING this movie is?! Most definitely, this has to be on par with many of the other well known Ghibli movies out there. I simply cannot stress enough the heartfelt emotions and just the movie as a whole- it is some that just captivates and engulfs the audience.

This is the Japanese trailer:

Unwrap Your Memories Campaign!

12:11am

Alright, now before i begin with this post, I'd like to say that I have officially completed Behavioural Research Methods and Statistical methods Part 1 ! :'D I'm so happy lol . and now!~..

Hello there my lovelies, I hope you all are having a wonderful Christmas holiday vacation~. I've recently received an email asking me

"Dear Kristine, what is your most memorable memory of Christmas?"

whether it be when you were a child or even when you are an adult.

Okay, i have to be honest with you. Whenever someone asks me to think back to a certain time, or just thinking back in general, I either come up with some sort of negative response that just kills the conversation as a result, or a blank response... that's really just the first few things that come up in my mind until someone reminds me "didn't you do _____ over the winter break?" then, i'll be "Oh yeah! i did do that!"...

Its usually just the negative things that I remember. And on top of that i don't have a very great memory. I've had a lot of things happen to me, but that's for another time to share with you. For now, I'll try to remember the positive that happened to me during Christmas :)

A couple years back- this... hmm probably just when i turned 5 (2000). We usually spend our Christmas at my cousins. Being Filipino and all, all i could remember was the ample supply of food ! LOL it was everywhere-- wait. Lets not forget the karaoke machine- i had a microphone in one hand singing endlessly for 2 hrs (i think it was Britney Spears at the time), in the other hand was i think some Lechon (at this point, Google is your best friend).

It was the best- everybody was singing and dancing to my sad singing on the karaoke machine. It was great, i always sang infront of my dads new video camera, i also got my brother and sister with me, my closest cousins and the rest of my family, and the food LOL the glorious food. Everyone would contribute- everyone, so it was a feast.

**I do have to give you a little warning- my way of writing tends to be a little all over the place- i don't really like to edit and rearrange my blogs most of the time, so yeah lol. just bare with me here. (<--even saying this right now is alittle out of the blue lol.)

Tradition in my family went sorta like this- During Christmas/ Newyears eve, everyone would gather round by 11:50 of Christmas Eve or Newyears eve with the TV on blast on CityPulse (when it was still called that at the time), the kids (us) would be getting ready the pot and pans with the wooden spoons and the adults with change in their pockets. By the time the clock struck 12midnight- everybody would be celebrating with clanging pots and money thrown everywhere for us to try and catch LOL it was so terrible LOL. i was always the one to get the least amount- mainly cause i was the youngest and everybody else was big and pushed me away xD. BUT ! thats beside the point!!

At this point it was a time of celebration of thanking the world for having what we have- a family. i would see family members kiss, and and cousins getting grabbed by my uncles and aunts and celebrating together. Of course i was with my parents as well. It was greatest time during the year.

I hate to say this but my dad was right- I would be able to understand everything until i was older. And now that i am, evening now as i'm typing up with post for you that it's a memory that i should really cherish and remember instead of all the bad things that have happened to me.

These are the kinds of memories that will help keep me going and to move forward :)

---

Alright ! lol now, with that being said, i did mention earlier that this post was because of an email that someone sent me- that someone was actually www.destinyusa.com. They had recently asked me to participate in this lovely campaign called "Unwrap Your Memories" (hence the Blogpost Title). :))

I think i'm going to end it here before i pass out lol, goodnight all!

Cheers,

11-02-13: Drama Review: The Heirs/ 상속자들 !!

1:21am
Hello there! i've been pretty busy with school *i'm swimming in homework atm* but I suddenly felt the urge to write a new review on the new drama:

When was this Drama Released?- October 9-2013

Is this a Korean Drama?- Yes

How many episodes are out right now?- there
are currently 8episodes so far and 20 Eps in total

What genre is it?- theres obviously highschool romance
and some comedic reliefs here and there

Any well known actors?- oh yeah ! they're
everywhere in this one!

Is this a drama that will make you cry a river?- nope, at
least for me- there's nothing really intense (i.e and illness
or something along those lines) that happens

Can I just mention how AWESOME this drama in?! LOL
Characters
Lee Min Ho as "Kim Tan"
  • The youngest son of a big company (Jin Hyuk)
  • I guess you could consider his role as the typical highschool rich kid (dare i say "mentality"?)
  • rejected by his older step brother ( Kim Won), and just a cold hearted troll lol
  • first seen in the pilot episode, studying abroad in America (specifically Cali.)
  • btw, Lee min ho, is in City Hunter, Boys Over Flowers, and a historical drama lol

Park Shin Hye as "Cha Eun-Sang"
  • The daughter of a housemaid who works in Kim Tan's household
  • Eun Sang in a way represents the extreme side of Kim Tan's lifestyle as she isn;t able to spend so much on lavish luxuriouss thingss~
  • Eun Sang works hard to help with their household expenses
  • also has an older sister that to their knowledge is studying abroad in Cali.
  • you'd be crazy to not know Park Shin hye (if you don't, she's in You're Beautiful, Flower Boy Next Door)

Kim Woo Bin as "Choi Young Do"
  • LOL can i just say? this guy came off as the biggest dick at first in the drama- and you'd think that "oh well i'm sure things will turn around for him as the drama progresses" ..... i don't know LOL
  • He and Kim Tan used to the be best of friends when they were younger but whenever they see each other it's all just filled with an intense atmosphere and rivalry
  • I feel as though on the inside he's just a lonely soul that just needs some consoling LOL
  • his eyebrows though.. in the drama.... >_>

Kim Min Hyuk as "Yoon Chan Young"

  • I think you'd be able to recognize this baby face as the drummer of CN Blue, and also that hungry dude from Heartstrings (also with Park shin Hye)
  • Min Hyuk Plays the role of the best friend of Eun Sang and the boyfriend of Lee Bo Na
  • Chan Young is often helping out Eun Sang whenever she's in trouble- a kind of person that Eun Sang is able to rely on when in a bind

SYNOPSIS
The pilot episode depicts the life of Cha Eun Sang- working multiple part time jobs preparing for highschool and as well earning the money she makes to help her mother. They later receive a phone call from Eun Sang's older sister to send her money in America for school- however when Eun Sang actually flies over to the US  to visit her sister she discovers her sister not even going to school or focusing on her studies and instead dating men and working park time jobs. The sister, being the backstabbing troll she is takes Cha Eun Sang's money and runs away.

At this point, this is where Eun Sang and Kim Tan meet where he offers Eun Sang a place to stay for the night. Here in Cali is where the majority of the cast members are introduced and sort of gives you some insight of their roles. Things already begin to happen at this point so i can't necessarily tell you everything LOL. it's all a matter of watching now >:3

RESPONSE
well.. i have to say it's been a while since i've watch a drama where i've been waiting anxiously for the episode to come out LOL. this drama has very strong actors/actresses so you could sort of assume that y'know ;) this'll be a good one lol .
There is just one thing that i don't really like about this drama that may see like a turn off at the beginning- LOL the way they speak English LOL. What's most interesting are the native english speakers *sigh* if you are able to get past that then this drama is perfect

it does have that typical situation between the guy and girl where one of them would be on a different social status bar than the other, but somehow end up liking each other.
^for me personally- i don't think i can get tired of these dramas LOL so i'm good

** ALL IN ALL - i think that this drama is a good starter drama if your just beginning to watch Kdrama- it's something that'll get you hooked right away  !!
へるずわ面白いです!:D trolol

here's the trailer if you guys want to check it out

that's it guys hope you guys enjoyyed ! :D

Fashion Trending!: HeadScarves!!

8:05am (I've become accustomed to wake up really early and end up sneaking in naps here and there throughout the whole day)

Hey guys ! I've got a fashion trend for you :D it's actually been around for a while but I was inspired to only talk about it now because .. well i'm wearing one myself ! aha! so here we go~ I'm going to be talking about the different kinds of head scarves and ways to wear 'em!

Okay lets be honest, head scarves can be grouped into that pile of intimidate accessory items especially if it's something new for you. Head scarves come typically in a silk square shaped looking handkerchief however i do have a couple of head scarves that are rectangular- lol so there's that. Head scarves are usually smaller and short than your regular neck scarf- so if you're worried that you might pick up a neck scarf instead of a headscarf when your at the store just keep that in mind!

Alright so depending on the size of head scarf you will get (or maybe yo uahve one already) will most likely determine the style that you will create (big scarf=more fabric to work with. vice versa)
Let me tell you- there are soooo many ways to wear head scarves that it's unbelievable! i bet you 100% ever person that you see with a head scarf will always have something different.

I think this is the most common look that i have seen on other individuals- which is the basic knot at the front. I think that head scarves are a great way to boost up your outfit and at the same time to hide that trollish bed head you have that you can't tame lol
As i said, this is a common look that i think any one can do it and is very easy.

Instructions:

1) Tie your hair in a bun or pontytail- whichever you prefer

2) grab your scarf and place it on the floor or on a flat surface

3) take one end of the scarf and meet it with the end diagonal from it

4) start folding the scarf in sections (3-4) until it looks like a strip
or band
(depending on your preference the band can be thick
or thin, it's up to you)

5. At this point, you can grab either ends of the scarf and place it on your head so that the ends of the scarf is at the front of you face

6. is this pretty much the easiest part- just tie a simple know at the front of your head

7. the little bunny ears hanging out can be simply tucked away or pinned back and- BAM! your done :D

I found this video a while ago talking more about head scarves and ways to wear them:

I hope you guys found this a little helpful!

Cheers

Western BB Creams VS. Asian BBcreams !

**Before i start here is the type of skin that i have:

- very sensitive
- oily
- redness around the cheeks and nose

---

Okay so a few days ago  went out and bought maybelline's "BB cream"

and do you know those days where you're just like" okay, i shouldn't buy this because everyone else says it's not what it says" but then some stupid light goes up in your mind saying" oh maybe you should, you never know.. your skin is different ! "  ..... LOL #letmeexplain

I bought this BB cream for 2 specific reasons:
- i needed something that was light enough for me to wear outside in the sun without it melthing off my face

- i was running out of the foundation that i usually wear (Almay)

So i thought i'd give this a go. Completely understanding AND have read that most american bb creams are simply just tinted moisturizers -.- LOL

All in all i just don't think that american bb creams come even close to asian bb creams. (at least in drugstore brands)
ALTHOUGH, i have heard of one bb cream that is drugstore that is decent- the L'Oreal bb cream.  This is PBunnieP- She does many reviews of BB creams, and asian ones as well please subscribe to her channel ! :D

---
***
With that being said, in comparison to the bb creams in Asia i feel that the Asian brands are more dominant- they live up to what they say.

CONS OF ASIAN BB CREAMS
personally for me the only down side is the lack of colour shades. Yes i am asian but i'm a dark asian lol so i can't really use their bb creams.. I can but that's only in the winter lol. There are companies that are beginning to expand and showcasing more shades for every body to use- Perhaps one of the major skin companies such as Missha and Skin79 Dr. Jart may have too.

Another set back for the Asian BB creams is that most of them end up having a grey-ish  tint to them .... i don't know anyone who has grey skin but yeah. If theres a reason behind the shades of grey someone please enlighten me lol

PROS OF ASIAN BB CREAMS

well as i had said- they do live up to there name for actually being a "blemish balm cream". depending on the brand that you get (which there are a variety of them !!)
many of the BB creams have lightening properties which will lighten the complexion of your skin and as well lighten any scars
BB creams in Asia have the moisturizing effect of a good moisturizer while at the same time the effects of a foundation covering up any blemishes or pigmentation
whats great about these kinds of BB creams is that you would generally think that all bb creams are all light  to medium coverage how ever like i said it comes in many varieties- from very light to buildable heavy coverage. Many companies are also investing in ecofriendly methods of production and ingredients (Innisfree)

Most Asian BB creams comes with SPF with PA ++ so thats a plus (ha !) when your going out in the sun or on vacation and dont want to cake your face

So Kristine, an last words of advice?

- When picking out your bb cream- always do you research before buying in person or online!
- Pick BB creams that work well under your conditions- your environment. if you live in a sunny area then SPF and PA ++  is number 1
- if your going out personally and looking for a bb cream, there are always sales adivosrs to help ! they also have their opinion so ask questions

- in the end, it's all depending on what you want and what your needs are-
- it's a trial and error process- you might not get the right bb cream at first but its all part of the process (like getting a boyfriend LMFAO)

Cheers !

Asian Film Review Tuesday- We Got Married!: Global Edition!

10:33a.m EST

We Got Married!: Global Edition
Is this a Korean Drama?
it is Korean yes, but it isn't a drama it's a reality show  :P

Any Famous Actors?
literally, all of the actors are famous xD

Is it currently Airing?
Yes

Are there any foreign actors?
From how much i have seen, there are 2 foreign actors, the wife with Taecyeon is Gui Gui. the one with Lee Honggi is Fujii Mina

Okay this isn't necessarily a drama but its a Korean show nonetheless, and let me just say this.... this by far the most CUTEST reality TV show that i have EVER seen ! :'DD
There have been past korean reality TVshows where they had imaginary weddings and of course this one was the most recents (the only thing that is different from the others is that this dramas takes celebrities from other asian countries as "guest-stars" for the show)

I guess you can say that the producers of the show are like 'matchmakers' they profile different celebrities and they would match them up with the perfect pair- the producers then create missions or dates for the couples to enter into hoping to create chemistry between the couples.

Here are the members of the show:

First Couple
Gui Gui

Taecyeon

Second Couple

Lee Hong Ki

Fujii Mina

LOL it's just plain cute i cannot stress that enough ! lol

The First Couple
I think immediately you can see that Taecyeon is i guess a little awkward when talking (maybe that's just me but can't you tell??)
Gui Gui, has a very cheery happy personality that she brings with her in the show and is seen all throughout- this couple is more of a light playful relationship that's filled with alot of humour and excitement.
I think immediately you can see that Taecyeon is i guess a little awkward when talking (maybe thats just me but can't you tell??) or shy ....something like that ! and with the help of Gui Gui's outgoing playful personality i think it supports the awkwardness lolol. (good job Mr. Producer!)
Also throughout the show they would also show snippets of the opinions and thoughts of both the couples about their partners, the experience they've had, their feelings etc.

The Second Couple
Here we can definitely see the say "Opposites Attract" sort of thing going on here- throughout the show producers and directors interview both partners and as questions where the answers will be completely opposite ! XD like literally LOLOL
Aiiggoo- Honggi, is like Gui Gui in that he also has an upbeat cheery personality Fujii-san is on the other hand 2yrs older than Honggi. interviewers do further questioning and then it makes you wonder "What happened Mr. Producer? you were doing so well in the first couple, what happened to this one?" LOL BUT ! you will see throughout the show that things start to change :)

It's a really sweet show that sort of gives you a break from all the dramas and sad soppy stories LMAOO give it a try i'm sure you'll Love it ! :D
Here's a trailer below of the show if you haven't seen it yet ! :D

***Bottom Line***
If you want a break from all the lover story dramas and want to have a laugh (or many) this Show is perfect for you ! --> Think of Running Man- but no Kwang Soo and all the others, just the humour with a hint of love LOLOL

That's it for my review guys ! Hope you Liked it
Stay in Touch for the next drama ! :D

May-19-2013: Happy Victoria Day !

2:56p.m EST
Hey guys ! happy Victoria day to you all !! :'DD .. does the US celebrate this ? XD I'm not too sure.. i don't think so. but for all the others who do (Canadians) I bid you good eating, good drinking and many fireworks to celebrate and to aim at each other (aha, i'm kidding!)
For the Canadians, what will you be doing this weekend ??? It's super sunny out here in Toronto so spend it while you can because the next few days will consist of showers and thunderstorms -.- lol.
My family and I are going tomorrow to Niagara Falls for the holidays, and for me it's going to be nice for me to get out of the house XDD LOL.I think it take us approx. 3hrs to get to Niagara- 2hrs if we want to rush and if there is ABSOLUTELY no traffic (highly unlikely)  I've been staying inside the house like a hermit ;-; (i haven't been out to hang out with friends- #sadlife). I need a job ;-; oh the troubles of a Student trying to make some money- among many other troubles (-____-)

Well ! on a side note I finally accomplished what was on my summer list for such a long time !! Terrariums !
I finally made my frist one and it will definately will not be last ! Call me what you like man, but i love doing these, they are so cute and it's very easy to take care of them- the type of terrarium i have is an open terrarium.. i never really understood the concept of the closed terrarium- i've always wondered how the plant can breath.. yes, you do have to open it to water it but after that you just close it right away ? the plant hardly has any oxygen ;-; LOL i don't know but yeah.
The terrarium that i have is more on the small size yeah, it's just a little over 6inches or 15cm. I think the next one that i will have will be muuuch much bigger.. but that i don't know where to put it lmfao damnit- my house is soo dark hardly any light goes through -.- Actually as a matter of fact, i got my inspiration to create a terrarium from non other than Wesley Chan (member of Wongfu Production) LOL i saw him in the youtube mini series of ISAtv  on thier Makeshift Series i believe and they had some cool interesting stuff to show there and one of them was of course- the Terrarium :)

I only used two different types of plants- Succulents and a hyposetes pink :)

Here's also the video of Wes' "Terrarium" (i'm doing "   "  <-- that because.. well if you watch the video then you'll understand LOL)

btw fashion Fridays will be happening on Tuesday along with drama reviews LOL.

alright i'm gnna end it here ! i'll see you on Tuesday ! :DD

Cheers !
