Stocking Stuffers for Christmas

11:24am

i'm currently studying for my statistics exam for next week... *sigh*

i thought i'd take my mind off of such an atrocity with a list of easy stocking stuffers that i think everyone would love- this is mainly for the ladies but also welcome for the men as well :D.

For me, i always have the problem of what to give to people because you know, even if you've known the person for a long time, you'd want to give them a decent gift right? Usually when i plan out my gifts for people i usually ask myself,

"Self, what is something that they need, and is within my budget?"

(which is very important as a university student xD)

So for my case, i'm thinking of what to give to my sister, she's a nurse and i feel that shes always stressed and doesn't give the time to herself to you know.. relaxxx and just pamper herself, soo i thought it'd be great to give her small things that would help her relax after coming home from a long days of work.

This is a list of what I've come up with:

  1. Cotton Sheet Masks
I don't think she's ever tried these before- they're reall inexpensive and if you get a box set there would be about 10. Or if you want you can get an assortment of different facial masks so that the person you're giving it to will have a variety to try out :)

2. Facial Creams/ Serums/ Moisturizers/ Eye creams etc.

Preferably, I'd like to get her something from Lancome- like a night cream or something. So when she puts on something before she goes to bed, when she wake up in the morning her face will have soaked up all the nutrients and goodies and just feel- refreshed!  You can purchase any other brand or beauty line, for some reason i'm just drawn towards Lancome xD.

3. Cozy Socks/ Warm slippers

I believe that it should be in order that everyone own and really nice pair of warm fuzzy and cozy socks or slippers- like a MUST. You are not truly relaxed at home unless you have a good pair of cozy socks to wear or slippies to put on. My sisters place, is tiles and is pretty cold, the slippers that she does have is a little worn out so maybe getting a nice pair of bunny slippers would do the job. I'll have to figure out though how to stuff these in the stockings.
And if this is for a male friend- jsut switch it up and get slippers that look more like it should be for a dude- like Panda slippers, or bear slippers lol !

Be creative- have fun with shopping for your friends and family, it shouldn't be a months worth of stress and unnecessary fighting at malls (ladies). If you want to be practical then get shopping done early, and avoid the vicious crowds during december and november months.

Well then! I shall be wishing you all Happy Holidays ! :D

Cheers,

Growing Out Long Healthy Hair!

Growing out your hair can be a long pain staking process especially if you've gotten the genes of slow ass growing hair (you not alone) There are many ways in which you can aid your roots and promote its growth rate !

A Thing to Remember !

Lets all be realistic here, we are all different therefore our hair is different as well- depending on the variety each and every one of us has different rates of growing out hair. Some people maybe able to grow twice the amount of hair than someone who can only grow out half the avg length per month. So it takes time and lots of it.

Well then now on to some basic Tips !

Basic Tips

Patience
Holy i think by far this is the most hardest task out of all the other tips and words of advice to follow- i think i can represent the majority of women who suffer from slow growing hair that this is definitely the worst. Patience however is worth the wait. Try and do things that may distract you from having that itch to snip- set a goal for you self, or try and do different hair styles that will help yourself to not cut your hair !

Remove those Split Ends!

Just like your skin, your hair is like a reflection of your overall health of your body- if your hair is not given the proper care then it shows off in your appearance as a whole. Snip off those ends, don't try and convince yourself that it's not a big deal. It is ! Keeping those split ends while having the goal to grow out your hair will go in vain! By keeping those split ends, the conditions will only get worse and the split ends will elevate and go up higher in the shaft ... so in a way its sort of counter acting the grow of your hair So snip it ! If you don't want to change the length of your hair but still want to remove those ends ask the salonist for a Dusting to remove some of the ends but still maintain the length of the hair

Usually people would say that you have to go every 6-8 weeks for a trim. But at the end of the day it depends on the rate at which your hair grows. there's no point in cutting it every 6 weeks if you hair doesn't even grow at the regular rate. "Only if you see signs of split ends, then trim" but if not then you can save money and skip the regular visits to the salon

Protect your Hair!

Your hair is very delicate and the environment can be very harsh on your hairs so ! Against the wind you would always want to keep it tied and not flying anywhere, this prevents it from drying up, and from breakage. Against the Heat, try and wear hats from time to time, or a protective spray so that your hair is not prone to dryness or breakage. Always try and use Cool or luke warm water when Taking a Shower- again prevents futurAe breakage, and fallouts.
When using Hot Iron Tools (which is not recommended) ALWAYS use a heat protectant you will thank it.

What You Can Do To Promote Hair Growth!~

DIY Hot Oil Treatments
for me personally, I don't go out buying the Oil for the drug store or wherever.. i have oil at home? I can just do it myself. (please common sense.. if your doing a DIY .. no canola oil LOL)
Virgin Coconut Oil~
1. Simply heat up coconut oil, not to the point where it is boiling but warm enough to have a sort of liquidy consistency.
Depending on the length of hair, how much coconut oil will vary.
*always concentrate on the ends first and then work you way up*
Coconut oil is a great way for deep conditioning the ends of severely damaged hair- allowing for restoration and smooth hair. It is always best to deep condition your hair once every week.

You can always opt for Hair Masks or even Olive Oil and mixing that with a little honey- heating it up a little and allowing that to sit for about 15-30min. This will also give similar results

Supplements
If you do no regularly take any supplements or vitamins- then you should! Once you realize that these vitamins promotes healthy growing hair then you will definately take these. Vitamins are taken in substitution for the nutrients that you do not often take throughout the day but are vital to your body and overall health
Your hair is again "a reflection of your overall health" !

Some supplements that you can take include:

Omega 3 Fish Oils

Silica Gels

Daily Multivitamins (Ex. Centrum)

**Always talk with a dietitian, doctor or consultant if the supplements or vitamins are right for you**

That is pretty much it !
I hope you enjoyed these tips !
Happy Growing, Cheers !

Western BB Creams VS. Asian BBcreams !

**Before i start here is the type of skin that i have:

- very sensitive
- oily
- redness around the cheeks and nose

---

Okay so a few days ago  went out and bought maybelline's "BB cream"

and do you know those days where you're just like" okay, i shouldn't buy this because everyone else says it's not what it says" but then some stupid light goes up in your mind saying" oh maybe you should, you never know.. your skin is different ! "  ..... LOL #letmeexplain

I bought this BB cream for 2 specific reasons:
- i needed something that was light enough for me to wear outside in the sun without it melthing off my face

- i was running out of the foundation that i usually wear (Almay)

So i thought i'd give this a go. Completely understanding AND have read that most american bb creams are simply just tinted moisturizers -.- LOL

All in all i just don't think that american bb creams come even close to asian bb creams. (at least in drugstore brands)
ALTHOUGH, i have heard of one bb cream that is drugstore that is decent- the L'Oreal bb cream.  This is PBunnieP- She does many reviews of BB creams, and asian ones as well please subscribe to her channel ! :D

---
***
With that being said, in comparison to the bb creams in Asia i feel that the Asian brands are more dominant- they live up to what they say.

CONS OF ASIAN BB CREAMS
personally for me the only down side is the lack of colour shades. Yes i am asian but i'm a dark asian lol so i can't really use their bb creams.. I can but that's only in the winter lol. There are companies that are beginning to expand and showcasing more shades for every body to use- Perhaps one of the major skin companies such as Missha and Skin79 Dr. Jart may have too.

Another set back for the Asian BB creams is that most of them end up having a grey-ish  tint to them .... i don't know anyone who has grey skin but yeah. If theres a reason behind the shades of grey someone please enlighten me lol

PROS OF ASIAN BB CREAMS

well as i had said- they do live up to there name for actually being a "blemish balm cream". depending on the brand that you get (which there are a variety of them !!)
many of the BB creams have lightening properties which will lighten the complexion of your skin and as well lighten any scars
BB creams in Asia have the moisturizing effect of a good moisturizer while at the same time the effects of a foundation covering up any blemishes or pigmentation
whats great about these kinds of BB creams is that you would generally think that all bb creams are all light  to medium coverage how ever like i said it comes in many varieties- from very light to buildable heavy coverage. Many companies are also investing in ecofriendly methods of production and ingredients (Innisfree)

Most Asian BB creams comes with SPF with PA ++ so thats a plus (ha !) when your going out in the sun or on vacation and dont want to cake your face

So Kristine, an last words of advice?

- When picking out your bb cream- always do you research before buying in person or online!
- Pick BB creams that work well under your conditions- your environment. if you live in a sunny area then SPF and PA ++  is number 1
- if your going out personally and looking for a bb cream, there are always sales adivosrs to help ! they also have their opinion so ask questions

- in the end, it's all depending on what you want and what your needs are-
- it's a trial and error process- you might not get the right bb cream at first but its all part of the process (like getting a boyfriend LMFAO)

Cheers !
