Fashion Trending!: HeadScarves!!

8:05am (I've become accustomed to wake up really early and end up sneaking in naps here and there throughout the whole day)

Hey guys ! I've got a fashion trend for you :D it's actually been around for a while but I was inspired to only talk about it now because .. well i'm wearing one myself ! aha! so here we go~ I'm going to be talking about the different kinds of head scarves and ways to wear 'em!

Okay lets be honest, head scarves can be grouped into that pile of intimidate accessory items especially if it's something new for you. Head scarves come typically in a silk square shaped looking handkerchief however i do have a couple of head scarves that are rectangular- lol so there's that. Head scarves are usually smaller and short than your regular neck scarf- so if you're worried that you might pick up a neck scarf instead of a headscarf when your at the store just keep that in mind!

Alright so depending on the size of head scarf you will get (or maybe yo uahve one already) will most likely determine the style that you will create (big scarf=more fabric to work with. vice versa)
Let me tell you- there are soooo many ways to wear head scarves that it's unbelievable! i bet you 100% ever person that you see with a head scarf will always have something different.

I think this is the most common look that i have seen on other individuals- which is the basic knot at the front. I think that head scarves are a great way to boost up your outfit and at the same time to hide that trollish bed head you have that you can't tame lol
As i said, this is a common look that i think any one can do it and is very easy.

Instructions:

1) Tie your hair in a bun or pontytail- whichever you prefer

2) grab your scarf and place it on the floor or on a flat surface

3) take one end of the scarf and meet it with the end diagonal from it

4) start folding the scarf in sections (3-4) until it looks like a strip
or band
(depending on your preference the band can be thick
or thin, it's up to you)

5. At this point, you can grab either ends of the scarf and place it on your head so that the ends of the scarf is at the front of you face

6. is this pretty much the easiest part- just tie a simple know at the front of your head

7. the little bunny ears hanging out can be simply tucked away or pinned back and- BAM! your done :D

I found this video a while ago talking more about head scarves and ways to wear them:

I hope you guys found this a little helpful!

June 30th, 2013: Gay Pride Parade 2013!!! Show Your Colours !! :D

Hey Guys, just wanted to share the experience that I had watching the 2013 Pride Parade held in Downtown Toronto- If your from here and you didn't go, then man you missed out ! LOL this is an annual event that you definately don't want to miss out ! I'm not lesbian, I am straight but I do support what they are doing which is why I was here and on top of that ! Its fun to participate lol, like who doesn't like loud pumping music and having just a bunch of people being able to express how they feel. It just a good feeling and experience all together :)

Me and my bf also went down to the harbour front after getting some good ass Poutine (Smoke's Poutinerie you are the best) we also saw a live performance... I feel so bad i don't know the name of this group but they were performing different styles of music- the one that i had caught was Eastern European Folk Music, and it was just so enchanting and made me want to stomp my feet, clap my hand and have a mug of beer in my hand LOL

Fashion Friday ! Maxi Skirts and Dresses

Well throughout the weeks, I was on the the hunt for maxi everything lol from maxi skirts to dresses ! - i'm really looking for something that i can dress up and dress down into
Not to mention- item pieces that are wallet friendly.. and i mean real wallet friendly aha! I have been looking for dresses and skirts for so long but there is no right item piece that comes along. I happened to look and find 2 Maxi dresses in the most unexpected places- for me at least.
I bought them at Urban Planet..... LOL don't be all judgmental now! I am a student on a real tiightt budget LMAO i don't have time to be prancing around and about at Club Monaco or Zara atm LMAO i must go back to the olden days where urban planet was my main bitch (no not really.) But yeah- to be honest you have to look..reaaaally hard in order for you to find a real nice decent dress- fortunately for me i found one that I would be able to wear to formal events and one i can wear for more casual days :)

^ the photo above is a photo of the Formal maxi dress --> please excuse the messy desk LMAO
I'm going through a phase where i love long EVERYTHING (lets narrow that down to only fashion..) In my personal opinion, i think that modesty is the new sexy for me--> If i were a guy and I saw a young lady walking around in a maxi dress, in a way it would kind of show her promiscuity. We as a culture are so used to wearing shorts and short skirts and above the knee dresses that we would be interested and curious if a person were to wear something long and covering, like "what does she have to hide?" sort of atmosphere-- it is eye catching (not to mention glamorous!)
Here we can see Jessica Alba (on left) wearing a bold black/white printed pattern with a biker vest to add a little bit of masculinity while Vanessa Hudgens maintains her cute persona with a nude detailed pattern maxi with a delicate frill on the chest and to top it all off a slouchy fringed bag.

Maxi skirts can definitely display  boho chic to any look.... you know what its just better to say the Maxi's are very versatile! Like you can do a million things with the dress!!

I thinnk the number one issue with long dresses is the Length- "i can't pull it off cause i'm too short" it doesn't have to necessarily be that way. There are many ways to fight the problem:

  1. Wear Wedges- wedges can add on substantial amount of height while at the same time keeping you comfy and safely on the ground than your typical stilettos
  2. Find a High-Lo Maxi dress- if your not into wearing high wedges or platforms you can always opt for a high-lo maxi dress where basically it is high cut at the front but has a waterfall effect flowing longer towards the back.

Also if it's too long there is also the option for Hemming to your desired length? that way you, won't be tripping over yourself or having to hold your dress every time you walk ;P
----

The same concept goes for Skirts--> i think having a skirts allows you for more lea way into making the skirt work for you
What i would do is that i take a quick look outside--> that in a way sort of determines how I would want to dress along with how i feel E.g: if i felt cheery and the weather is great i would wear light pastel colours with fabric that is light and airy/flowy  i would then pair this with nude to brown accents (belts, earrings, shoes etc)

Thats it for this post guys !

Cheers !
