FILM REVIEW: Kill Me Heal Me [[ 킬미, 힐미]]

Kill Me Heal Me

How many total eps? 20 episodes
Are there any actors/ actresses that I know of?  Okay so I have done my research, even though some of these character are not recognizable- I know that that two main characters are from other pretty big drama series (ex. Full House take 2, Secret Love)

What kind of genre? Psychological, romance, comedy, melodrama

Ji Sung (aka: a very glamorous man lol)plays the main character, Cha Do Hyun to which at the beginning of the series reveals that he has been diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder ( formerly referred to as multiple personality disorder; DSM IV). Cha Do Hyun is a seemingly very successful man with a high socioeconomic status. However, producers and directors begin to unfold the many layers behind this mysterious character as he struggles with DID.

In this series, Hwang Jung Eum plays as a psychologist at a hospital where Cha Do Hyun is referred to by his assistant. In the opening scenes of the drama she is initially portrayed as psychologically unstable and so right off the bat there is a sort of miscommunication between the two main characters.

Park Seo Joon plays the fraternal twin brother of Oh Ri-Jin; he is an author in the series however I'm not too sure as to what genre ( i want to say that has been writing mystery novels but i’m not too sure- I’d have to look into it). Anyway, Oh Ri-On is a mysterious character all on his own so i can’t say too much about him ;P

Synopsis

This drama is essentially revolved around Cha do hyun who had been diagnosed with Dissociative Identity disorder and how he attempts to cope with the unraveling personalities that are portrayed throughout the series. One of the first personalities that is introduced in the plot episode is the Shin Se Ki  and he is characterized as the “personality” or alter that is generally the more rebellious, hot tempered alter- there are several others but the other alters are not presented until later. As you will see throughout the episodes; Cha Do Hyun’s alters become distinctly triggered by environmental stimuli- in particular whenever he is physically hurt or on danger (basically whenever he is in prolonged situations of stress)

Personal Thoughts

Okay ! now i’m not sure if many of you are aware, but there is also another series that is EXACTLY the same at this drama LOL- it’s called Jekyll, Hide and I?  I’m watching them both simultaneously and both series are very interesting in terms of their comparisons and the certain things that both directors and producers are trying to emphasize here.
I am actually very pleased that there are more and more dramas that are coming out that are emphasizing on psychological disorders- I think that more recent dramas are trying to cover more grounds in terms of raising awareness that psychological disorders is something that should also be taken seriously. Now I can’t necessarily say that same about how accurate the information may be. Of course this isn’t a drama that is meant to be educational as its meant to be for entertainment- with that being said don’t think that you should take everything that is mentioned in the drama to heart as alot of the facts in the drama are vague.
Kill Me Heal Me major cast members
And just another thing to take into consideration is that the acting that is done in these sorts of drama’s- don’t use it as a reference as to how things are done in an actual reality setting as these portrayals are very unrealistic. Eg: the doctors that are portrayed in this drama- it just feels as if they have only been exposed to DID for the first time and they don’t know the proper protocols for dealing with patients. Lol then again this is just me majoring in psychology xD
